BETH SHALOM

TRAVERSE CITY

Congregation Beth Shalom is a small, vibrant Jewish congregation in the beautiful town of Traverse City. Our synagogue, built in 1885, is Michigan’s oldest in continuous use.

COMMUNITY

Beth Shalom is a Jewish community grounded in the thoughtful practice of tradition, text, ritual, and music, and open to people with all levels of Jewish knowledge and experience.

Guided by a vision for our community that is inclusive, warm, participatory, and full of meaning, we’re building a vibrant gathering place in the heart of northern Michigan.

EDUCATION

We provide spiritual, cultural, and educational programs, guided by timeless Jewish values, and empower people to lead engaged lives of purpose. We make Jewish ideas relevant to modern life, are committed to the practice of social justice, and combine elements of the secular, natural, and traditional to uplift both our daily lives and surrounding communities.
